Winter Tree Walk

Wed 11 January, 10am – 12noon

Wandlebury Country Park

Free guided walk to learn how to identify tree species in winter. Learn how to identify our native trees using bark, buds, shape and form (and leaves / seeds when available!). Gentle guided walk around Wandlebury. Meet at the noticeboard in the car park. Free but donations welcome.

Woodland & Wildlife Walk

Wandlebury Country Park

Free guided walk to learn about woods and their wildlife. Join our Wardens for a gentle guided walk to learn about and enjoy the woods and their wonderful wildlife. Meet at the noticeboard in the car park. Free but donations welcome.

Holiday Bushcraft for 5-12 years

Wandlebury Country Park
Holiday Bushcraft at Wandlebury is designed for children aged 5-12 and is run by experienced qualified teachers from Wild Thyme & Embers, who will inspire children and share their knowledge and skills of surviving in the wild. The sessions focus on practical bushcraft and survival skills and follow a forest school approach encouraging self-confidence and sense of achievement.

All basic bushcraft techniques suitable for this age range will be taught, including:​

  • Shelter building
  • Knots and rope work
  • Use of cutting tools and whittling
  • Plant and tree recogntion and uses
  • Seasonal woodcrafts
  • Fire lighting techniques
  • Wilderness cooking skills
  • Natural art and crafts
  • Woodland games

The cost for each day is £40 per child. To book
Children need to bring a packed lunch and large water bottle (which can be refilled throughout the day) and dress for the weather. Please send children with a change of clothes and ensure they wear suitable footwear, preferably closed toe shoes such as hiking boots, wellies or trainers
