Wilbrahams’ and Six Mile Bottom community support for the Homes for Ukraine programme SURVEY

Dear residents

Message and request from Hilary Burton: coordinator of community response

We are moving on with plans for how the Wilbrahams’ and Six Mile Bottom communities can support Homes for Ukraine. Thank you to those of you who asked to be involved.

South Cambridgeshire has the overall responsibility for supporting refugees arriving in this area. Our group has determined that we can be most helpful by putting together a package of resources that we can make available, whilst also supporting any families that have made individual commitments to house refugees.

We are now reaching out to understand more about what the community can offer. Crucially, we are interested to hear about accommodation, other forms of support and financial contributions that people may be willing to make. Financial contributions will be particularly important as we consider whether we can collectively rent a house for refugees (either in the village or possibly as part of local schemes to house Ukrainian families near each other and closer to main centres).

It would help massively if you would fill out the questionnaire on the website indicated below so that we can build a picture of our collective resources. Please fill this out even if you have already told us about what you have available. Please also note that this does not imply any commitment at this stage, and DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY NOW as we have no means of dealing with it.

Please tell friends and family in the villages, who will also be able to complete the form by going to the website.

Note: any email addresses and contact details provided will only be used in the context of the Ukrainian refugee programme. All responses in the questionnaire will be kept confidential and used only by the organisers.

If you have queries, please email Hilary Burton hb284@cam.ac.uk or hilary.burton@phgfoundation.org

Thank you very much
