Enhancements for the Ken Davison Recreation Reserve, Little Wilbraham
The key about this space is trying to add to the existing facilities in the area. For example we have added a Multi Use Games Court that is now being used by all ages.
This initiative comes from the South Cambridgeshire District Council and is one of four local projects funded from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The upgrades will be carried out by a professional landscape company.
From the District Council :
” the reason that Little Wilbraham was selected, and specifically Orchard Close, is that the village falls into several categories that indicate a lack of green space and community growth options. The changes that the Parish Council have made have significantly improved this space, but we wanted to take advantage of the funding we received to bring the site further forwards than the Parish Council may have been able to achieve with current budgets.
Although Tuesday was a bit of a washout for our meeting a big thanks goes to those who braved the rain.
We had some good feedback including suggestions about :
- the type of tree for a mini orchard
- a water source for a drinking fountain
- an outdoor table tennis table
- location of the seats and tables
- other types of games that could be added to the space
