Village Maintenance – Request to Residents

Green leaf background overlaid with white text. Poster for Village Maintenance requestThe Parish Council is actively engaged in an inspection of the village to review maintenance works required. As well as auditing assets such as benches, signs and bins we are looking at the trees, verges and hedgerows to be sure that residents are safe on our footpaths and highways. In particular, we will be looking at hedgerows and trees that may be overhanging or encroaching on the public space and need to be pruned back for health and safety reasons. We will be putting in place a programme to deal with those that are the responsibility of the Parish Council and making requests to local authorities and landowners.

With summer upon us now, we would ask that people take a look at the boundaries of their properties and make a concerted effort to deal with any problematic trees, hedges or vegetation for which they are responsible.

We recognise that there may be people without the physical or financial means to manage their gardens effectively. Please do notify the Parish Council clerk if this is the case and we will endeavour to identify support via volunteers.
