URGENT: Have your Say for Our Villages About Cycling

The “Cambridgeshire Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan Consultation”

Deadline: 23:59 on Tuesday 13 July

 Why is this important?

Our villages do not feature at all  in the County Council’s Consultation Plan of its ideas for future cycle and footpath improvements.   Its “Appendix 1” does not include this area.

  • Our children should have the option to cycle safely to Bottisham VC
  • We should be able to cycle safely to Bottisham Health Centre
  • We should have a safe cycle route to Fulbourn
  • We should have a safe cycle route to Cambridge
  • We need better footpaths, properly maintained

Our villages are so close to Cambridge yet isolated unless you have access to a car or are prepared to take your life in your hands and risk cycling on our country roads which are used by large numbers of Heavy Goods vehicles on a rat run between A14 and A11 or going to Commercial premises in Fulbourn.

Even if you do not own a bike, please take the Council’s survey for the benefit of our villages.      Our Parish Councils want safe cycle path provision here, as do our District and County councillors and Wilbrahams Environment Group

Access the Survey Here:

If you have time, read the Plan itself.  If not, just do the survey, answering neutrally for all areas except South Cambs and concentrate on questions 3, 5 and 7, perhaps making some or all of the bullet points listed above
