Over £500 raised at Choir Concert

The Wilbrahams’ Community Choir raised the roof of the Memorial Hall in song at their recent concert.  Songs of the sea and spirituals were on the menu including a medley of Swing Low Sweet

Chariot, I Wanna Dance and When the Saints come Marching In.  Very popular was What Shall we do with a Drunken Sailor, My Lord What a Morning and Heart of Oak

A local band consisting of guitars, accordion and drums calling themselves the Tofty Club sang some favourite pop songs and the choir and band performed a Pink Floyd number, Shine On you Crazy Diamond.   It was a feast of local talent and live music which the audience enjoyed and the performers did as well.

The choir has been rehearsing for the concert for the past four months under the directorship of Gill Humphrey.   The Summer Concert raised over £500 which will go towards providing acoustic treatment for the Wilbrahams’ Memorial Hall.  See the Hall and the choir’s web sites for more information.
