Hawk Mill Farm – making the change to greener practices

Hello

Anyone walking the footpaths through my farm over the last five years will have noticed the fields look different for many months of the year, less ploughed brown, more plants green, and many more flowers.  I’ve been explaining how I now farm in my Down to Earth piece in The Warbler which started with Winter 2016 “Rumours of my retirement are very much exaggerated…”

Recently I took part in a film supported by Carbon Neutral Cambridge about how farming is starting to change and become part of the climate solution by reducing our carbon footprint, CO2 emissions  and working more with nature than with chemical supply companies. https://youtu.be/M2RPjS3v6uA

The team that made this film were so inspired by the subject that they want to make a longer film that covers the subject more fully.  On top of being informative importantly they want this to have an educational element too, so suitable to be shown to school children to help our youngsters become inspired by nature.

To do this they need a large budget and have launched crowd a funding project, see  https://www.sixinchesofsoil.org/  @sixinchessoil

If you have enjoyed your walks through the farm or want to help publicise and inform more people of how to make the change to greener practices for the benefit of our planet could I encourage you to consider a small donation.

For the cost of a delivery of a bouquet of flowers which lasts for two weeks you can help promote the delivery of change that will last for years to come.

Many thanks.
