Dogs and Sheep

Locals in the lower end of Little Wilbraham will be aware that as part of my Regenerative Farming practice I’ve reintroduced grazing livestock (sheep) into the rotation.  As such I thought it advisable to highlight this with some signs informing dog walkers of the fact and highlighting the risks that the presence of dogs can present to sheep. Having dogs on a lead should also spare owners the alarm of their pets getting a shock from the electric fence or their embarrassment when their dog spooks the sheep causing them to run through the fence in panic and escape.

To be fair this has only happened a couple of times and most respect the new rule whilst using the footpath that runs on my property.  If keeping dogs on a lead whilst near livestock or keeping them under control and out of crops whilst ground nesting birds are breeding is thought to be unreasonable other footpaths in the area are available.
