It’s been a while since Fulbourn Cinema showed a documentary film, but this is no ordinary documentary. Described as, ‘A cinematic odyssey exploring David Bowie’s creative and musical journey’ (IMDb), the film was made by visionary filmmaker Brett Morgen, and sanctioned by the late singer’s estate. Critics have called it, ‘A mind-blowing labour of love’ (The Guardian), ‘Gorgeous, immersive, overwhelming and intimate’ (Movie Nation) and ‘A stunning achievement’ (Roger Ebert). Vogue said, ‘Astounding, among the best films about any artist I’ve ever seen’. It’s been nominated for 32 awards and the producers have limited the streaming rights, encouraging people to see it on a big screen – so what are you waiting for? Time to paint your face, dig out those platforms and clomp down to the Townley Hall to re-live your Golden Years and find out if there is Life on Mars!
Friday 10th March at 7:30pm.
Tickets via Fulbourn Arts or available on the door.
