Acting to improve the Environment here in the Wilbrahams
On Saturday a group of us planted five substantial Oak trees around Great Wilbraham. The trees are already more than 3.5 metres tall and were grown in the UK.
On your walks you can see two of them at the junction of Butt Lane and Street Way, another 150 metres or so down Street Way just in the field on the left hand side and another towards the far end of Butt Lane, planted on GW Parish Council land.
The fifth is now in the hedge line just to the right of the footpath from Frog End leading towards the railway.
A sixth tree is to be planted – with help from the children – in the School field on Wednesday. Thankyou Paul, Roger, Chris, Tony, Richard, David, Cathy, James – and most of all Wren who, because of his youth, is the most likely to see the trees grow to early maturity!
